چکیده

rostate cancer is evidenced by profound histological, cellular, and nuclear changes in the organization of the prostate. Histological assessment of prostate tissue taken from surgically removed tumors has traditionally relied on visual pathological interpretation. The principal classification scheme used in visual pathology of the prostate, Gleason grading, has proven successful in characterizing the state of disease but has had limited prognostic value. We are conducting studies that aim to provide quantitative measures of disease state to improve prognosis prediction. Our findings show that the orientational distribution of tumor cells, often assumed to be isotropic, can play a significant role in statistical studies of intranuclear DNA organization. Inclusion of anatomical factors in the selection of reference frames for measurements of intranuclear DNA can improve the statistical power of cytometric studies and may provide a unifying framework for relating histological, morphometric, and intranuclear descriptions of prostate tumors. Correlation between staining intensity of prostatic adenocarcinoma with P53 and Gleason's grading

Introduction: Prostatic adenocarcinoma is the most common malignancy of internal system and after lung cancer is the second cause of death in male. Genetic base of many neoplasms is related to suppressor tumor gene such as P53. Therefore, we aimed in this study, to assess the intensity of prostatic adenocarcinoma tissue staining with P53 staining method and its relationship with Gleason grade. ...

The IGSF1, Wnt5a, FGF14, and ITPR1 Gene Expression and Prognosis Hallmark of Prostate Cancer

Background: Prostate cancer is considered as the second leading cause of cancer related death in men worldwide and the third frequent cancer among Iranian men. Despite the use of PSA as the only biomarker for early diagnosis of prostate cancer, its application in clinical settings is under debate. Therefore, the introduction of new molecular markers for early detection of prostate cancer is nee...

Comparison of Radiobiological Models for Radiation Therapy Plans of Prostate Cancer: Three-dimensional Conformal versus Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy

Purpose: In the current study, using different radiobiological models, tumor control probability (TCP) and normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) of radiotherapy plans were calculated for three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) of prostate cancer. Methods and Materials: 10 prostate plans were randomly selected among patients ...

Expressions and significance of tumor suppressor gene PTEN and p53 in prostate cancer

The study aim was to investigate the impacts of the expressions of tumor suppressor gene phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) and p53 on the grading and prognosis of prostate cancer. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of tumor suppressor gene PTEN and p53 in 80 prostate cancer and adjacent tissue samples, as well as in 40 normal tissue samples, an...

The Role of radiobiological parameters on Tumor control probability (TCP) in prostate cancer

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluation radiobiological modeling parameters on tumor control probability (TCP) for prostate cancer in three different models. These parameters included α⁄β ratios and cell surviving fraction at 2 Gy (SF2). Materials and Methods: The Poisson, equivalent uniform dose (EUD) and linear quadratic (LQ) models was used as...
